01What does Engager actually do?
Engager helps founders, solo entrepreneurs, and indie builders find potential customers. Scout finds and ranks LinkedIn conversations where people discuss problems your product solves. Commenter drafts comments using your product knowledge and voice. You can review drafts, write your own, or choose automatic publishing.
02Will the comments sound like me?
Brain supplies your knowledge, stories, and positions; Voice supplies your writing preferences. Commenter uses that context for drafts. Review the results, edit what misses, and add your own writing to improve the voice.
03Is every comment published automatically?
You choose. Leave Commenter’s Publish step off and drafts wait for review. Enable Publish to let it schedule output within the account budget. Worker schedules are also optional.
04What does Engager cost?
Engager has one plan: Local-first at $29 per month for the maintained Mac app, background supervision, updates, diagnostics, and support. One account supports two registered Macs. Bring your own supported AI subscription. Billing is monthly from day one with no trial. Request access through the closed beta.
05Does my Mac need to be running?
Yes. Engager runs locally on your Mac. Scheduled workers need your Mac and the required AI connection to be available. You can also run Scout and Commenter on demand.
06Could this put my LinkedIn account at risk?
Yes. LinkedIn does not offer a compliant automation API for this workflow. Automated activity can lead to restrictions. Daily budgets, spacing, active hours, and a hard stop limit activity; they do not eliminate account risk.
07Do I need my own AI subscription?
Yes. Engager is powered by your existing Claude or Codex subscription, with usage handled by your AI provider separately from Engager’s subscription. Engager runs on your Mac and stores campaigns, voice, knowledge and run history locally; your connected AI provider processes the content needed for AI work. You can also manage Engager from your AI agent via MCP. Claude Code, Claude Desktop and Codex support interactive MCP control; background AI execution uses a separately configured agent CLI.
08Does every AI call produce a usable draft?
No. A failed or retried AI request can consume usage from your AI provider. Automatic retries do not guarantee that a worker run will complete; check its run history for the result.
09Can I stop the workers?
Yes. You can turn off their schedules or use the hard stop. The hard stop prevents new activity and cancels scheduled comments. An operation already in progress may need reconciliation.
10What happens if a send is interrupted?
Engager records the attempt and checks the result before trying again. An uncertain send is held for review instead of being blindly retried. Activity shows the state of your comments and worker runs.
11How do I get started?
Request beta access through a 20-minute call with Slava about your product and how you find customers. A personal invitation may follow. For local setup, connect LinkedIn, add product knowledge to Brain, and tell Scout who your potential customers are. Check the download page for Mac release availability.
12Are Responder and Writer available?
Scout and Commenter are available today. Writer will write posts, starting with LinkedIn. Responder will reply to incoming comments and replies. Both are coming soon. LinkedIn is supported today; more channels are planned.
